It would be infinitely easier to find an original "low and reverse" slider gear cog for a Model A Ford transmission than a valve cap for these old (probably) Boosey or (maybe) Hawkes made instruments.

Our favorite golden rainbow of old English bariphoniums, the E o' the Bay, supplies instruments such as these fairly regularly in various states of repair...some "Piccadilly Circus" engraved ones, as well...

...quite often at affordable prices.

Eventually, you might find one exactly like yours, sporting just the parts you need but missing enough other parts to possibly keep the price of the lot under $100.
