Also on the CSO Quintet program was John Stevens' "Seasons: A Symphony for Brass Quintet." This is a wonderful extended composition in a highly accessible musical language. Gene Pokorny very unassumingly utilized circular breathing in the atmospheric C that begins and ends the piece.
