A major concept in design is the proportion: 1.618. It's know as the "Golden Section". I've been questioning how it could play into branch length, taper, mass, bracing, etc. in tuba design and construction. How could this proportion be applied to the increases in these factors in the design and construction of a tuba.
I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Are there any sources on this that you know?
