Overseas travel is evil. Delta/Air France tried to bust me this summer. I flew with two tubas, one in a WJ case, and was promptly charged with 5 excess charges. You get the first charge at regular price and the next one counts as three charges (for each instrument). Overseas charges are typically 50-80% higher than domestic ones. Basically, be prepared to wheel and deal, maybe cry a bit, and put on your best show!
