I haven't used Finale, but I'd like to. I can tell you that Cakewalk will leave you wanting after a very short time. It works okay for simple stuff, but has no way of adding the things that make your composition music. Forget repeat signs, fermatas, phrase markings, etc. Using it makes me aware of just what I wish it would do.
