I use a Rudy 4/4 as my primary instrument and I can't recommend them highly enough. My advice is to try one and see what you think. If you can, try to find one of the older ones. A few years back, they redesigned the wrap on the 4/4 in an attempt to fix some pitch problems. In my opinion, what they got was a different set of pitch problems and a little worse sound. That said, they are still pretty incredible instruments and if they fit you, I don't believe you'll be at all disappointed with their versatility and superior construction. I've seen them listed used for at or under $5000.00 but you have to be patient because they don't come available that often. Good hunting!
