Someone mentioned Amtrak as an alternative, and I thought that I would throw in my 2 cents, for what it is worth. I have, on two occasions, shipped horns via Amtrak. The most recent was when I shipped two horns in hard cases from Orlando to central Illinois. It cost $45 TOTAL, and they arrived without any damage in 2 days. Just something to think about.....
