The conductor on the Nielsen 4th was Jean Martinon. This recording should make it's first CD release this year. Jacobs sounds even better on the Niesen 2nd under Morton Gould which has been on CD for a few years in RCA's Navigator series from Britain. Try a big record chain whose name begins with the letter "T". He sounds better because the miking is more natural, and the recording was taped before the 1966 Orchestra Hall renovation that destroyed the acoustics which made the Reiner recordings so distinctive. It's also a great part with lots of independent motion in the low brass.

I feel that many of the Solti recordings were less favorable to Mr. Jacobs and his colleagues due to the outrageous misuse of technology by the production teams of Decca /London. Solti's pedal to the metal approach in his early years with the CSO didn't help either. With few exceptions, major label recordings of the 70s and 80s were monstrous creations that bore no resemblance to real world music. There has been a recent recoovery of sanity.
