This is basically a repeat of a concert that we performed on campus at the University of Mississippi back in late November. Two major works include David Sampson's "Morning Music" and Michael Tilson Thomas's "Street Song". Also on the program are fanfares by Thomas Beveridge (in 7/8,7/4,and 7/double-1) and Jonathan Dove (assisted by outstanding local high school brass musicians), two jazz pieces including Dave Brubeck's "Blue Rondo a la Turk" (involving Professor of Percussion Ricky Burkhead on set, and also involving some very quick changes from tuba to bass and back) plus the Manning Sherwin ballad "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square", and some Giles Farnaby Renaissance dances with Mr. Burkhead assisting on percussion once again.

The concert will be in Memphis, Tennessee at the Rose Theater in the Buckman Fine Arts Center at the intersection of Perkins Road Extended and Walnut Grove Road at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, January 31, 2000. Admission is free. Members of MISSISSIPPI BRASS include
