The Torchinsky books are getting hard to find, but you can order individual parts from Kalmus. Some of the more recent repertoire may not be available for purchase (rental only with royalties) but most standard repertoire will be. I've gotten stuff from Patelson's, a "pro shop" behind Carnegie Hall, on numerous occasions. Of course the parts will lack Mr. Torchinsky's intros and observations. Get recordings and scores to put the various passages in context. Shostakovich and Prokofiev should be available. I can't recall the last time I ever played a Shostakovich or Prokofiev piece from anything BUT a Kalmus part.

Try the Kalmus website. They can also be reached by phone. (561)241-6347
