Just an aside for all of you with the slightest bit of interest. I am a tuba player for the U.S. Army Band system and was standing on the Berlin wall the evenings of 9 and 10 November 1989, while it was 'falling'(stayed until 94 and am now back). After 55 years of military occupation, with thousands of infantry and military police standing guard duty for freedom, in front of the Checkpoint Museum, there is a picture of a tuba player where Checkpoint Charlie used to be. For those of you who might not remember, that was the access point in Berlin to the eastern side of the city. It was also the sight of many standoff situations with the Communist East Germans and the Soviets. I can't figure it out, but somehow this permanant, gigantic picture of me in uniform hangs in the middle of one of the busier streets in Europe. So, put that one in the history books for where we are and what we play!
