This is stupid!!!! Your director will never ba able to fool an adjudicator with a "keybord tuba". If this percussionist in the symphonic band is going to play the part, then why isn't that breaking the rules? You should really discuss this with him more and convince him, espescially if you are capable of playin the part. If talking doesn't work, I say thy tyhe riot idea.
