At first I thought "Alexander Technique" must mean having to play "open G" 1&3, C 2&3, E in the staff 1&2, C above the staff 1st valve, etc., like all of the Alexanders that I have ever "techniqued" with. :-)

Actually, Alexander technique has helped my daughter, but she needs to "back" it up (no pun intended) with some upper body strength training over at the "Y", as she not only gets very tired holding her oboe, but also just standing up for an extended amount of time.
