I totally agree with everything you said. From your's and other posts I get the impression that "riot" was taken to mean loud violent yelling fussing stuff. Sorry, I got stuck in local dialect. Riot would mean verbal protests, made only at appropriate times. OF course, even there one must be careful. Our "top" tuba guy basically told our director one day during band camp the the band had better get a lot better quick or he was outta here. Mr. P said "Okay. Bye." I'm now 1st chair, and he's got a lot of free time.
