I wasn't able to make it to the Army tuba/euph conference, but I did hear Howard play the bass (not baritone) saxophone (!) and the contra alto (contralto?) clarinet with J.D. Parran (on bass saxophone and alto clarinet) in NYC on Tuesday. The show was great (even without the tuba). It's amazing that one can be a virtuoso player on so many different types of instruments. He takes "doubling" to a whole new level!
