After leaving San Antonio, I moved into a big-time private-sector job in my industry, and started traveling all the time. That hasn't really stopped. For a while I played in the Plano Community Band, the Dallas Symphonic Winds (no, not who you are thinking), and subbed in the Mesquite Symphony. While in Dallas, I played most consistently with the Heritage Brass, a Civil War reenactment group, and came close to putting a decent brass quintet together. Since then, chops have continued to fade, and now I'm building them back up. I'm playing in the Loudoun Concert Band at present, and glad to be making music in a group again. There's even the possibility of starting a tuba quartet in the area, just for fun.
