And all of the Carl Nielsen orchestral works are undergoing a still newer revision than that of Tuxen.

Nielsen was considered a bad orchestrator during his own time and the decades to follow.

Newer, highly qualified, research shows, that Nielsen was quite aware of what he did. So any responsible strives now are deducated to clean the scores of later additions and bring them back to the original Nielsen intentions.

Nielsen was not just a composer sitting secluded at his piano, which he by the way is told to play less than convincingly.

He started out as violinist playing barn dances in his fathers band. Continued as a military musician playing valved alto trombone. Went on as a violinist of our royal chapel. And was a conductor of that orchestra, which is the house orchestra of our royal ballet and opera.

He was criticized for being a bad conductor of his own works. He listened too much, and lost thereby the forward drive. A criticism heard about othet composers/conductors.
