If you don't mind, I'd be curious to hear what you think of the All-State bands (both you and your tuba playing friend) afterwards. I have a student going to the 11-12 band but I can't make the convention myself because we have concerts. She plays on a Kalison 5/4. I tried to explain to her what a great conductor Fred Fennell is but you just can't describe him accurately with words. Keep us posted if you have the inclination!
