You said it...you sound great when you play at home. To help overcome nerves, don't just play at home...it's too comfortable, right? Put yourself in some uncomfortable situations: play for your director, your friends, strangers...anyone who will listen and who will make you nervous. Have your private instructor recreate the scene of walking in and playing the audition. I do this for all my students and it has worked well. Even if they're not nervous during their lesson, when I ask them to step into the hall and they come back into a room with a chair and a stand sitting there...and I'm across the room taking notes...it makes them nervous!

You have to practice overcoming nerves just as you do anything else. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
