This would actually not be a difficult project. Take the four-valve cluster from a standard top-action American baritone horn (non-compensated), and the slide from a standard bass trombone. Replace cut the slide at the end and solder it on the inner tubing, and insert the valve section (with tuning crooks still pointing down) on the upper slide. You could buy a standard bass trombone with an extra slide, and have a rig where you can switch from slide to valves. If you used a two-valve bass bone, then you only need three valves in the valve body.

I may undertake this project myself someday.
