It's real close to a Bach 18 in both shape (bowl) and overall proportions.

Actually fun to play on & feels responsive, but loses core & everything else if you really start cranking.

It's not the worst thing you could pop into a sousaphone this winter for obvious reasons. that Nylon rim feels real nice (even when you're indoors). A less obvious benefit is that the light weight makes it much less prone to falling out of the horn, too.

I often wish I could just take the Astro-cup rim, and put it on a 'real' mouthpiece.

Last I checked, cost would be a little less than a regular Bach or Benge mpc.
