My favorite orchestral brass recording (besides the gabrielli) is a bootleg of The houston trombone section, and Warren Deck done sometime in the 80's. It's all excerpts, and it has a bootleg of live NY Phil doing Prok. 5th at the end. Although it was originally recorded on hand tape recorder, it is a wonderful representation of an orchestral low brass section. You should also look at sean's recommendations. Especially the philadelphia brass ensemble.. it's a great recording.
