I found a three-valve e flat imperial last year at Phase Three Services near Cambridge but unfortunately I did not get it--they (the older e flats) are not very common at least in one year of searching by me in the UK market. It cost 600 pounds. With 4 valves a dealer told me the least (in good condition) would be 900 pounds. Last year, a different dealer told me the same general type with a larger bell would be 1,500 at least. Recently, I saw a four/valve in the UK for 1,400. Last year I saw one in excellent condition for 2,400 (with all the silver plating intact, etc.)! I would like to get one a little later this year or next. My concluding response to your inquiry is that 600 is a good price if the tuba is in good playing condition. If you have further information on such tubas, let me know.
Thank you.
