Reminds me of a similar anecdote...one year at an all-star game, Mickey Mantle began talking with Ted Williams. Williams begane asking Mantle some very technical questions about how he rolls his arms, the way he distributes weight, etc. After trying to do what Williams said. Mantle went 0 for 40. He gave up, and went back to his old strategy...swinging the bat as hard as he could, aiming for the fences every time.
