i've understood the AMR and Dillon pipe to be an adjustable mouthpiece reciever. basically what it does is makes it where you don't have to worry about the shank size of your mouthpiece. it fits your mouthpiece to give you the amount of shank you want in the reciever. it seems pretty reliable and steady on the horns i've played on or seen. the amount of shank in a mouthpipe can affect intonation, tone, and clarity in a slight way and may be useful to someone who switches mouthpieces for different situations or has a longtime favorite mouthpiece that doesn't seem to fit the desired horn just right. hope this helps.
