There willl probably just be a line at the gate. If you come in for the reading session at 1:30, I-66 should be pretty good. Get off at the 50 West exit (right before you cross the bridge into the District), take the first exit off of 50 West, turn left, go past the Iwo Jima Memorial, and you will see the Wright Gate at the end of the road on the right.
Don't see this as a reason not to come. Just expect a line at the gate.
