Heh, heh. It was a rhetorical question. If making a tuba skinny and narrow is the only way to make it with good intonation, then I'll take the fat tubes and deal with the intonation problems. Because a skinny tuba isn't a tuba (at least it isn't a big tuba). Just as a violin with frets isn't really a violin. It won't sound the same, and it won't do the same things. But it will play better in tune in the hands of a tin-eared fiddler.
