I used to use anhydrous lanolin, but switched to STP oil treatment and have been very happy with the results. Not as sticky as lanolin, but enough so that the slides stay put yet can be moved easily. Doesn't degrade into green gunk when moisture hits it and seems to last forever. Doesn't stink up the horn and the shop if you have to unsolder a branch.

I understand from Nanette Kappus that she's working on a BiNak-formulation slide grease. I'll probably switch to it when I get to the bottom of my quart container of STP, which ought to be, oh, about 2783...
