Last night after a two hour practice session, my top lip was getting really sore from my mustache/van gogh. So, I decided to shave it off.
Anyway, since I'm such a facial hair wiz, I can tell you the area you're talking about is called the "soul patch." Put some lip balm on there (Burt's Bee's, Carmex, whatever theory you subscribe to) and don't hurt yourself.
