One of my students has just decided to buy a new Rudy Meinl 4/4 piston CC tuba. I tried out the horn for him last night and it really is a great CC tuba. Very lively sound, very even scale, and consistent sound range to range. What I couldn't find was a really good mouthpiece match for the horn. My student, who was at FMEA last week, tried out a Doug Elliot mouthpiece that he really liked but didn't buy. He wants to try out the Elliot mouthpiece on his new horn to see if it might be the one he needs. I searched the archives and can't come up with Doug's email address. Does anyone out there have Doug's email address? If so, please send it my way if you can. It would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'd be curious to hear from those who are using this new Rudy CC tuba about what mouthpiece you're having success with. Thanks in advance!
