Charlie, is my 641 an anomaly? It has a HUGE low register(a perfect Ab). The rest of the horn is dead on except for the g in the staff(30 cents sharp) and the top Bb(1st valve is best, but as a reformed CC player this is easy). It is two years old. It seems to have a bigger leadpipe than most 641's I have seen, especially those being sold to schools without the engraving on the bell. My only wish is that it had a little bit bigger bell flair, the sound does carry. For what it is worth, I have played on a 24AW for years but recently started playing the mp that came with the horn and it zeros it in that much more. Go figure. As a comparison, I played a 641 the other day, a new one, that was the worst BBb tuba I have played in a long time.
