That was the tuba. In the late 80's the valves wore out and I couldn't get them fixed in the USA. I decided to design a new valve system and get bids on its constuction. Gronitz won the contract and rebuilt the whole instrument.
Yes, I remember Knowville and the large Cervany BBb tuba. Did you also go to Cookville to the tuba bash of WInston Morris and Harvey P.?
