Steve, I played an older (RM9?) Rudy 3/4 in college along with a Rudy RM10 4/4. I tried out the 3/4 in orchestra and our director who's a brass player didn't even notice the difference. However, when I had the opportunity to buy a 186 5v CC for $2000 and tried it out in orchestra, he noticed and was not pleased with the sound (I wasn't either). BTW, when I played the 983, it's a bigger horn than my Yamaha 321 Eb.
