Hi Apple!

AMEN again!

I recently tried the Miraphone 181-6V F at Brasswind. I was very impressed with this horn. I thought the low CC (on that particular one) was fairly easy to play decently. It's overall sound seemed significantly different than the typical "big F" sound that the 822 gets -- definitely "bass tuba" in character. Not big/broad, but not small in any way. If I ever decide I need a bigger F tuba than my 621F, but still want to differentiate from my CC, I will seriously consider the Miraphone F. Bear in mind, my concept of an F tuba is that it should be noticeably different from a contrabass sound. I'd probably lean towards a 4/4 instead of a 5/4 F, believing a 5/4 F *may* be too close to a 3/4 or small 4/4 CC in sound concept (frequently).
