They did not make a 182 back in the 70's. They started making the 182 and the 1271 about 5 to 6 years ago. You can not be a former user of a 182 in the 70's. a 185 or 185 yes, but not a 182 or a 1271. The 1271 Miraphone considers more of a school tuba with no bell ring. I got Miraphone to up the bell to its size now. When it first came out the 1271 and 182 had 15 inch bells. I forgot to mention the 1271 has a .730 bore and the 182 a 770-800 on the 4th which makes it really nice.
Both are exactly like I described it.
