The VAT tax can be fully refunded on a tuba purchase in Europe. You have to prove that you are taking the tuba out of the EU. This can all be done in the airport when you leave. You can either get your money back at the airport (though they will give you about 6% less)or you can send the VAT tax form back to where you bought the tuba and they will then send it to you. Itīs really very easy. Yes, it can be much cheaper to buy tubas in Europe even with the trip expenses.
