A tuba player in my band has an 20 years (or more) old Boosey and Hawk 3 piston with a ball on the bottom bow. But he also has a tuba stand like the K&M stand but with a reciever at the top in which the bottm bow ball fits. This makes the tuba totally free moving.
No I don't know where he got it from(nor does he).
