I have used my King indoors and out as the only tuba player with an approximately 50 person community band and have had no problems providing the support needed for the band. My wife said that she had no problem discerning me from about midway in the audience at our last "Gazebo" concert of the season. I find the Miraphone to have the ability to provide a bigger sound and to be slightly free-er blowing than the King, but I have never tried it in a concert setting. Intonation is about the same on both of them. If money were no object I'd get the Miraphone, but I would have a hard time justifying the extra money for the type of playing that I do. I have been told that there is more variation between samples of the King, but I didn't think that the differences were that great between the 8 that I have tried. If you have played a King that you are happy with, buy it and don't second guess yourself.
