If your Miraphone is anything like my Cerveny 641 Eb, I'd suggest not being afraid to use a really small mouthpiece. Specifically, a very shallow mouthpiece. I went through this same business when I bought my Cerveny. All my previous Eb tubas were larger models. Like you, I was using pretty large mouthpieces on them. In my case, I was using Conn Helleberg, 7B, and Bach 24AW at various times. I tried using a PT-8S on the Cerveny and it worked better than anything else. I've since purchased a "copy" of this mouthpiece from Doug Elliott and it works really nice. The thing these mouthpieces have in common is their relatively shallow cup depth. They're both small without feeling pinched at the rim, at least with my face.

Good luck!

My opinion for what it's worth...
