My wife (a physician) tells me that 90% of those afflicted find near total resolution within 3 months. She says that if you try to play before things are fully recovered, it should not hurt anything... you will just slobber all over yourself. Finally, she tells me that most folks only get it once, but she has one lady that has had it twice. I also know a trombone player that has had it two or three times (recovered well each time). Do not give up, it is just a setback, not a shutdown.
