In researching Harvey Phillips' recordings, have acquired a number of New York Brass Quintet albums. Several of these LPs include as least some historical and biographical information about the quintet. It was formed in 1953 or 1954 and Robert Nagel (trumpet) and Harvey Phillips (tuba). I should mention that Mr. Phillips' teacher-- William Bell-- also had a brass quintet in New York at the time-- the New York Philharmonic Brass Ensemble.
