Tuba A., if it's also well in-tune. If it has tuning problems, then you have to decide if you can live with them, or can remedy them (slide pulls, m.p. change, cuts, etc). People do not hire tuba players for articulation - they hire tuba players for bass notes delivered in-tune, and on time. Never buy a tuba that plays well in-tune, but you don't like its tone quality. That defeats the whole point of playing the instrument in the first place.
