Here's an interesting thing for ya:

I used both my PT-84 and my PT-64s (really shallow cup) and the high notes came out a lot easier and better sounding on my bigger PT-84. The PT-64s I got tired so fast playing on it (I'm changing to a Bobo solo mouthpiece anyways. I wouldn't receommend the PT-64). This is when I played on the Willson Eb. So I would think, as far as Eb tubas go, the PT-84 may lie well. It really produced a dark sound and you can still push for some edge if you wanted to. Oh ya, you said you want a big dark sound. Ya man, go for the PT-84. You'll sound like a CC tuba on it.
