This thread was originally addressed to band directors. Since I am one, I guess it is supposed to be for me, however I believe it applies to everyone. There are some good thoughts expressed in many of the posts. I believe the most important of which are: guard your freedoms, check out your sources, and use your own brain.
At one time, I was a member of NEA. I have long since withdrawn from the organization. I don't want my money spent promoting things which I probably disagree with about 98% of the time. I don't think NEA truly represents their membership. I don't want to assist in subsidizing such an organization.
One further thought: What does all this have to do with tubas and euphoniums?
