Dr. John K. Richards, former tubist with the Oregon Symphony, is the most multitalented musician I have ever heard of, let alone studied under.
He can play the s*** out of not just tuba, euphonium, or trombone, but pretty much every major musical instrument in existence. He conducts the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Symphonic Band in Portland, Oregon, and when anybody out of any section is having a problem playing their part he says "hand me your instrument" and plays the part (completely cold) flawlessly.
The man is such an amazing musician that it is at times difficult to comprehend.
