there's a lot of mystery to anything that goes on behind the mouthpiece, but I do notice that I tend to shift the mouthpiece slightly downward (i.e. more lower lip) when I'm playing those screechy 3rd tuba ensemble parts for long stretches. I also anchor the corners of my lips a bit more firmly.
Not that I can't play without moving the mouthpiece, but I find that I have somewhat better endurance when I shift.
Otherwise, use lots of air, ease up on the mouthpiece pressure and practice...it'll come with time.
