I have read both, more than once. There are different types of students, and some benefit more from a show-me, explain-to-me approach. I still remember Abby Mayer having me put my hand on his belly as he supported a tone on the horn. It felt like a little inflated volleyball, and it told me explicitly in a few seconds what he could never have expressed in several years of "use more air."
