My horn in its hard case actually fits in the passenger seat of my Dakota pick-up. Cold day in hell when it rides in the back.
BTW, my Altieri gig bag is still for sale. Like new, used 3-5 times. Large size fits 20" bell. In brand-new condition, $200. It cost me $250. e-mail for more info.
