Weird. I flew Delta round-trip from D.C. to San Francisco last April with (1) a Nirschl in a Walter Johnson case; (2) an Alex F in a small Rudy CC case; and (3) a euphonium in a soft bag as carry on.
Even transferred in Salt Lake to a little commuter jet that the Nirschl barely fit in and never paid a dime in extra charges!
