...that would be correct. But, in my experience playing both instruments, the bass trombone takes much more air at forte and above. The tuba has a natural resonance that you can sort of "surf" on top of, where the bass trombone has very little, requiring a faster airstream to maintain thre sound. Does that make any sense at all?
